Volunteers helped Springside celebrate Arbor Day by planting new trees in Evergreen Park, Willow Spring, and near the main entrance. A large white oak tree was planted in honor of former Board Member Virginia Hancock.

Recent excavation of the Gardener's Cottage unearthed a poem that local scholars believe contains the clues to Matthew Vassar's hidden treasure at Springside. Join volunteers of Springside Landscape Restoration for a guided tour of Andrew Jackson Downing's historic landscape and receive a copy of the treasure hunt poem and site map for further exploration and amusement.

Volunteers helped clear around the remains of the Gardener's Cottage and prepare for the installation of new benches.
The annual event was back this year! Thank you to all of the community members who came out to support Springside by purchasing plants for their yards and gardens.
Spring into the New Year with a fresh start and a hike through Springside! Springside is always open dawn to dusk — enjoy the trails at your own pace, or pick up a map at the entry kiosk and complete the full Walking Tour.
Harvey Flad (Professor Emeritus of Geography, Vassar College) will guide a tour of Springside as one of three tours of historic landscapes associated with Matthew Vassar — Vassar College Campus, Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, and Springside.
As part of a nationwide program that reveals the stories of places that are part of our daily lives, discover the design history of places you may pass every day but don’t necessarily know about. This special tour of Springide will be led by Harvey Flad (Professor Emeritus of Geography, Vassar College).

As part of the Hudson River Valley Ramble, join volunteers of Springside Landscape Restoration for a guided tour of Andrew Jackson Downing's historic landscape and receive a copy of the treasure hunt poem for further exploration and amusement. Springside is a 20-acre designed, landscape and historic site that was once the county estate of Matthew Vassar and is the only landscape of Andrew Jackson Downing to survive largely intact. Today, the National Historic Landmark is a historic site on the Hudson River Valley Greenway Trail.
